    What are the kidneys?

    The bladder collects and stores urine while the muscles of the bladder remain to relax as it is being filled up with urine.

    When the bladder is filled with urine, a signal is sent to the brain, telling the person to go to the restroom.

    As the person begins to urinate, the muscles of the bladder contract, causing the urine to flow through a tube located at the bottom of the bladder called the urethra.

    The urethra in men is long and the urethra in the woman is short.

    What may cause problems in the kidneys?

    There are several things that may cause problems in the kidneys, but the two most common issues are infections and kidney stones. An infection in the kidneys is mainly caused by a urinary tract infection (UTI) that spreads towards the kidneys.

    NOTE: An infected kidney can be deadly if left untreated, so be sure to consult a doctor if you suspect an infection in your kidneys.

    What are kidney stones?

    These are stones formed inside the kidneys when minerals in the urine harden and crystallize. There are two types of kidney stones: Uric acid and Calcium Oxalate stones. The type of stone discovered in your kidneys may help in the prevention and treatment process.

    Kidney stones may cause discomfort base on where the stone is located; if the stone is in the ureter it may cause pain while passing urine and you may experience difficulties urinating. Symptoms often include increased frequency and urgency with urination, pain in the abdomen and lower back. In some cases, blood may be in the urine.

    NOTE: If you see blood in urine, see a doctor right away.

    Other things that may cause kidney problems are chemotherapy, exposure to toxins, and venom from snakes, insects, and disorders like diabetes, heart failure, and lupus.

    What Is Caffeine, and What Does It Do To Your Body?

    Caffeine is found in coffee, tea, cola, chocolate, and a variety of other things. Caffeine is an addictive drug. It operates on the brain, using the same mechanisms as amphetamines, cocaine, and heroin to stimulate the brain.

    Although it is milder than the other drugs, it is manipulating the same channels.  This is one of the reasons it is addictive.  If you think that you cannot function every day without it, and must consume it every day, you are addicted to caffeine.

    So What Is Caffeine?

    Caffeine in its pure form is a white, alkaloid, crystalline powder that tastes very bitter. Another name for this white caffeine powder is trimethylxanthine, which has a chemical formula of C8H10N402.

    Physicians use it as a cardiac stimulant and also as a mild diuretic (increases urine production). But many regular people take it to “boost their energy” or for the feeling of alertness it gives. It is often used to help people stay awake longer during sleeping hours.

    The body is obviously tired and needs rest; but, instead, a dose of caffeine is given to it to keep it in action.

    Taking away sleep from a tired body is amongst the worst things one can ever do. The caffeine, when taken, repeatedly pushes the body into greater activity when it wants to stop for rest, and this gradually damaged the body.

    Instead of recovering, organs gradually weaken. Eventually, the weakest ones become diseased, and the person wonders why it happened.

    Caffeine occurs naturally in many plants, including coffee beans, tea leaves, and cocoanuts. Because of this, it is found in a wide variety of food products. In addition, caffeine is added to many other foods, including beverages.

    What are some of the things you’re drinking that contain caffeine?

    1. Coffee: – A Typical drip-brewed coffee contains:
    100 milligrams (mg.) per 6-ounce cup.
    200 milligrams (mg.) per 12-ounce cup.
    234 milligrams (mg.) per 14-ounce cup.
    334 milligrams (mg.) per 20-ounce cup.

    That is a lot of caffeine!

    2. Tea: – A Typical brewed tea contains:
    70 milligrams (mg.) in each 6-oz. cup.

    3. Cola drinks: – Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, etc., contain:
    50 milligrams (mg.) per 12-oz. can.
    Jolt contains 70 mg. per 12-oz. can.

    4. Chocolate: – Typical milk chocolate contains:
    6 milligrams (mg.) per oz.

    5. Drugs: –
    Anacin contains 32 mg. per tablet.
    No-doz contains 100 mg. per tablet.
    Vivarin and Dexatrim contain 200 mg. per tablet.

    When you sit down and calculate the amount of caffeine that you have consumed, you might be surprised to know that you are probably taking in a gram (1000 mg) each day, without realizing it.

    And What does caffeine do when it gets into the body?

    As your body becomes fatigued, adenosine is made in the brain and binds to adenosine receptors. This causes drowsiness by slowing nerve cell activity. You want to stop and rest. You want to go to sleep. This is good, for you need the rest. In the brain, adenosine also causes blood vessels to dilate (enlarge), so more oxygen can reach the brain during sleep.

    But when caffeine is taken into the stomach, it travels quickly to the brain. Once there, it does what adenosine normally does; it binds to the adenosine nerve receptors. But, instead of slowing cellular activity, it speeds it up. The cell can no longer bind with adenosine because caffeine is linked up with all its available receptors.

    The cell begins accelerating its activity. Because adenosine is shut out, the brain’s blood vessels began to constrict (narrow).  The increased neuron firing in the brain awakens the pituitary gland to action. Some kind of emergency must be taking place! So the pituitary signals the adrenal glands to produce adrenaline (epinephrine), the “fight or flight” hormone.

    The longer-term effects of using caffeine tend to spiral down. Once the adrenaline wears off, you face even greater fatigue—and also depression. More caffeine is taken, and soon the body is jumping into emergency levels all day long. You become jumpy and irritable.

    Because the half-life of caffeine is six hours, by the time you go to bed, you cannot get to sleep or you will not obtain the deep sleep you need. (If the last cup of coffee was taken at 3 p.m., by 9 p.m., you will still have 100 mg. in your body.) So the next morning you feel worse—and you need caffeine to get you out of bed.  You have started another day, beating the horse. This is why 90% of Americans consume caffeine every day.

    The National Institutes of Health informs us that Pinto bean reduces bad cholesterol, lowers sugar level and produces good gut bacteria called propionate. 

    4. Kidney Beans

    Information from NutritionData, shows that 1 cup of Kidney beans contains 13.4 grams of protein.

    National Institutes of Health states that Kidney beans help with the slow absorption of sugar in the bloodstream hence causing a reduction in blood sugar. Kidney beans also lower the risk of weight gain, diabetes and also metabolic syndrome. 

    5. Split peas

    There are three types of split peas; green, red, and yellow. Studies from Livestrong tells us that 1/2 cup of split peas has 8 grams of protein, so that means 1 cup contains 16 grams of protein.

    Livestrong published an article stating that Split peas lower the risk of high cholesterol and heart disease. They also stated that split peas are rich in the amino acid tryptophan. Tryptophan is needed to manufacture the brain chemical serotonin, which regulates mood, appetite, hunger, and sleep.

    6. Black Beans

    NutritionData has made it clear that 1 cup of Black Beans contains an excellent 15.2 grams of protein.

    Not only that but the National Institutes of Health informs us that Black beans may reduce spikes in blood sugar that occurs after eating a meal and as a result, it may help to reduce the risk of developing diabetes and weight gain.

    It is pointed out by NutritionData that 1 cups of Soybeans contain a large sum of protein, which is 28.6 grams.

    A study published by the National Institutes of Health found that eating a large sum of soybeans, lower the risk of stomach and other gastrointestinal cancers by 15%.

    has concluded that processed meat is carcinogenic to human and stated that it is a major contributor to colorectal cancer.

    According to the World Cancer Research Fund and the American Institute for Cancer Research…
    There is strong evidence that consuming red meat and process meat increases the risk of Colorectal Cancer.

    Other studies published by the National Institutes of Health…
    found that colorectal cancer is not the only risk from consuming red and processed meat, but eating 50 grams of processed meat daily, put you at risk of developing prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer and eating 20 grams of meat increases breast cancer in women. That is less than half the size of a regular hot dog.

    So there you go with strong scientific evidence indicating that eating meat is deadly, but I would like you to know that before all these health institutions were formed and before all these scientific research were done, There was a prophetess known by the name Ellen G White who stated clearly, that eating meat causes cancer.

    Here are a few quotes from her books written over a hundred years ago.

    The first quote is taken from the book {Healthful Living, page 100.7}
    She says “Cancers, tumors, and various other inflammatory diseases are largely caused by meat eating. From the light which God has given me, the prevalence of cancers and tumors is largely due to gross living on dead flesh.’  {Health Living 100.7}

    This other quote is taken from a periodical called {Bible Training School, August 1, 1907 par. 2}  under the topic “Healthful Diet” 
    She says:”The meat diet is the serious question. Shall human beings live on the flesh of dead animals? The answer, from the light that God has given is, No; decidedly no. Health reform institutions should educate on this question. Physicians who claim to understand the human organism ought not to encourage their patients to subsist on the flesh of dead animals. They should point out the increase of disease in the animal kingdom. The testimony of examiners is that very few animals are free from disease, and that the practice of eating largely of flesh is contracting diseases of all kinds,–cancers, tumors, scrofula and tuberculosis, and etc. If man will subsist on the food that God has so abundantly provided without having it first pass into the animal organism and become sinew and muscle, and then take it second hand by eating of the corpse, his health would be much better preserved.”  {Bible Training School, August 1, 1907 par. 2}

    She also stated in this other book known as {Counsel on Diet and Foods 388.4}
    that “Those who use flesh foods little know what they are eating. Often if they could see the animals when living and know the quality of the meat they eat, they would turn from it with loathing. People are continually eating flesh that is filled with tuberculosis and cancerous germs. Tuberculosis, cancer, and other fatal diseases are thus communicated.”

    So there you have it, even before these modern researches came about, this Prophetess of God solidly pointed out that meat eating causes cancer of all kinds.
